Thank you for 8 amazing years.
Since 2018, Alter Eat-o has been built with so much heart. What began as a passion project grew into something far beyond what I ever imagined, and none of it would have been possible without all of you.
Through every location change, menu expansion, challenge, success, and reinvention, you continued to support us, encourage us, and believe in what we were creating.
I will never be able to fully express how grateful I am for that.
Many of you know that food and entrepreneurship have always been deeply personal to me. Since we were kids, my sister and I dreamed of opening a food business together. Losing her to cancer in 2024 changed my perspective on many things — especially the importance of time, family, and building a life that allows space for the people you love most.
As a result, Alter Eat-o is evolving into something new: a small seasonal roadside market venture that I’ll be building alongside my daughter, Arwen, under the name Hill House Market.
And we are both very excited!
This new chapter feels slower, more intentional, more connected to family and community, and more aligned with the kind of life I want to create moving forward. We have built a charming self-serve farm market experience filled with homemade baking, seasonal treats, fresh finds, specialty products, flowers, local goods, and all the little touches that make people feel welcome.
In many ways, it feels less like leaving something behind and more like carrying the heart of Alter Eat-o into a new season.
You’ll still see pieces of me in it. You may even still spot a few familiar Alter Eat-o favourites from time to time. ❤️
Most of all, I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for supporting a small local business.
Thank you for allowing Alter Eat-o to grow and evolve over the years.
Thank you for every order, every kind word, every recommendation, and every bit of encouragement along the way.
You helped make this dream possible — and I hope you’ll continue alongside us as we begin this next chapter.
With gratitude and excitement for what’s ahead,
Leslie
